Native to northeastern Cuba (300–960m elevation), growing lithophitically on sun-exposed igneous rocks. For Australian growers, it is a warm-to-intermediate orchid requiring bright, filtered light and strong air movement. It thrives in summer days of 24°C–30°C (tolerating 35°C+ if humid), and needs a drier winter rest with nights ideally above 10°C–13°C, though it may tolerate brief drops lower if kept bone-dry.
