About Our Flasks
Our Flasks
Sometimes the cost of a large flask is simply too high, and managing 12 to 40 plants at once can be overwhelming. Furthermore, many imported flasks suffer during long transit times or are kept in poor light, resulting in weak seedlings with compromised root systems by the time they reach you.
The "Designs by Nature" Difference
We source our genetics from premium overseas growers and give them the extra time they need to thrive. Instead of selling stressed imports, we carefully divide the flasks into smaller Micro Hobby Flasks and stabilise the plants in our nursery.
What you receive is not a struggling seedling, but a robust plant with a strong, active root system. We’ve done the hard work of acclimating them so they are ready to be deflasked and continue growing without the typical "flask shock."
Care & Cultivation
Our seedlings are established enough to be treated similarly to their flowering-size relatives, requiring only a bit of extra shade and protection as they settle. As long as you avoid overwatering and ensure good drainage to prevent rot, they should continue to grow vigorously.
Flask Sizes & Ordering
-
Micro Hobby Flasks: Most of our offerings contain 3–5 plants, depending on the genus and rarity.
-
Availability: We offer pre-orders for rare species. Hybrid clones are generally listed only once they are fully established and ready for immediate shipping.
Shipping & Quarantine
-
TAS & WA: Due to biosecurity regulations, we do not ship directly to Tasmania or Western Australia as we are not accredited, however we are happy to hold flasks for customers in quarantine states and arrange for individual inspections.
-
Estimated Costs: Inspection fees typically range from $35–$70, depending on the number of flasks. This is an excellent option for collectors in restricted states looking to secure rare genetics. Customers in WA might have to pay for additional inspection upon entry. Please contact us if you are interested.
