Shipping Policy

At DBN – Designs By Nature, we take the utmost care in preparing and posting your orchids to ensure they arrive healthy and safe. Please read our shipping policy carefully before placing an order.

Shipping Restrictions

Due to strict biosecurity regulations, we cannot ship plants to:

    •    Tasmania (TAS)

    •    Northern Territory (NT)

    •    Western Australia (WA)

We also do not ship plants overseas.

Orders placed to these locations containing plants will be cancelled and refunded.

Shipping Method 

We ship all orders under 1kg using Express Post. Express is the fastest and safest method for plants and reduces the risk of heat, cold, and handling damage. The postage collected at checkout often does not fully cover our expenses associated with shipping, handling and packing, and we often absorb the additional cost. Most parcels over 1kg will be posted using Parcel Post as some Postcodes are unreasonably expensive. If you prefer Parcel Post even for smaller parcels or want to cover Express Post for a large parcel, please email us and we will issue a refund or an invoice for additional postage.

Weather Safe Shipping

Orchids are sensitive to extreme temperatures. To protect your plants:

• We only ship in cooler weather.
• During heat waves or extreme temperatures, we may delay posting your order until conditions are safe.

This is to prevent plant damage or death during transit. You will be notified if your shipment is delayed due to weather.

Dispatch Schedule

We only ship orders on:

    •    Monday

    •    Tuesday

This ensures that plants do not sit in Australia Post facilities over the weekend. Orders placed after Tuesday may be shipped the following week. We might make an exception if you live locally to us or in another major city and ship on Wednesday.

Risk of Loss or Damage

Once your parcel is handed to Australia Post, risk transfers to you.

If your plant arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours with:

    •    photos of the plant

    •    photos of the packaging

    •    your order number

We are here to help resolve any issues promptly.
