Dendrobium cruentum
A rare and striking epiphytic orchid native to the humid lowland swamp forests of Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is easily identified by the distinctive tiny black hairs covering its reed-like canes. Long-lasting, waxy flowers—frequently remaining in bloom for over a month—which feature pale yellowish-green sepals contrasted by a vibrant, crimson-scarlet lip. Because it is a warm-growing tropical species, it thrives in bright, filtered light and high humidity but requires a drier rest period during the winter months.
