Bifrenaria harrisoniae
Native to southeastern Brazil (200–800m elevation), growing lithophitically on sun-drenched, humid granite cliffs. For Australian growers, it is a tough cool-to-intermediate grower that demands very bright light (often tolerating full morning sun) and excellent drainage, thriving in baskets or coarse bark. It prefers summer days of 24°C–30°C and requires a hard, dry winter rest with night temperatures dropping to 7°C–11°C to trigger blooming; it easily handles colder conditions in most southern coastal areas, protect from frost.
